With the growing popularity of our Real Ale Festival, we are already planning our 2008 event.
2007 saw record numbers attending our event with the Friday night session and
Saturday attracting the most attention, so much so that we had to call on our
suppliers for extra deliveries to satisfy the ever increasing demand for Real
Ale.
The number of Traditional Cider Fans also saw an increase with an ever
increasing number of patrons asking for Perry.
The warm sunny weather along with the atmospheric setting resulted in many
compliments and good comments about this event, with all who attended
appearing to thoroughly enjoying themselves.
2008 Real Ale Festival
In 2008 we plan to open the event on the Friday night session. This will then
lead into a pleasant weekend in the nostalgic surroundings of our 1860's
heritage railway station, taking the opportunity to view and ride on our Steam
and Diesel locomotives in their natural home on the rails.
For the Beer Festival we aptly name our bar area 'The Railway', which even
includes an original pub sign. We provide a covered drinking area with views
along the platform and tracks. Saturday's Festival will host a Diesel hauled
passenger service, whilst Sunday's service will be Steam hauled.

Prices
There is no charge to enter the Festival although only persons aged 18 and
over will be able to purchase or consume alcohol. Do not be offended if you
are fortunate enough to be asked for identification. Ale vouchers will be
available from the station booking office, as no money will be able to be
taken over the bar.
Commemorative Ale Festival Polo Shirts
A limited edition commemorative polo shirt will be available during the
Festival weekend courtesy of Ballyhoo Clothing Limited.
Ales
We are again planning to host ales from around the country, although we will
still be hosting some of the local brewers that have helped make this event
as popular as it is.
Last year our own brand of beer 'Off the Rails', supplied to us by our friends
at 'Cotswold Spring Brewery', was one of the most popular Ales we hosted as it
was one of the first to run out.
We will aim to inform you of the confirmed ale list as we progress.
